ThunderBolt introduces the world's first fully configurable putter

Golf putters are primarily affected by 3 physical characteristics:

    1.       1. Weight

A putter's weight can have a significant influence on your putting stroke.  Some golfers prefer a lighter weight because it feels easier to swing and control, whereas other golfers may prefer a heavier weight because it has a bigger impact force on the ball.

    2.      2. Center of Gravity or CG

The center of gravity is where the weight of the putter head is concentrated and determines whether a putter has a toe hang or is faced balanced.

Some golfers may prefer to have the center of gravity situation behind the face center to impart all the weight of the putter to the ball while others may prefer to have the CG a little offset to promote their swing path.

    3.      3. Moment of Inertia or MOI

The moment of inertia is determined by the weight, the center of gravity, and the distance the various parts of the head are located relative to the CG.  The MOI determines the forgiveness of a putter.  Essentially, MOI determines how easy it is for the golfer to move the putter head through the swing arc.  Forgiveness allows for less than ideal ball contact to still provide a good controllable hit.  Shown below is an exaggeration of the relationship between small and large MOI.  The smaller MOI feels lighter and easier to control, but the swing path may be sensitive to minor changes in wrist/arm movement.  Some golfers may prefer this to better feel how the putter is contacting the ball.  A larger MOI feels heavier; however, its mass is harder to change swing path.  The increased weight allows for the ball to miss the sweet spot and still impart a high amount of energy to the ball.

    The ThunderBolt Advantage

ThunderBolt Designs Mark II putter is a uniquely configurable putter system that allows the golfer to change the putter’s physical weight, center of gravity, and MOI in a matter of minutes.  The Mark II can be optimized to match their style of play for all golfers and different courses.

The ThunderBolt advantage is its patented T shaped slot (T-Slot) which allows different weights to be attached.   The weight, CG, face balance and MOI can be adjusted in a matter of minutes.  The Mark II consists of a base putter which can be used by itself.  Weights can be slid into the T-Slot and moved side to side to adjust the weight, face balance and MOI.
